Banadar, San Diego, CA

Banadar is in the heart of the Gaslamp district.  They serve upscale Persian food.  I had their spanakopita, chicken kabob with currents and chocolate moose cake.  The restaurant has dim lighting at night, white table clothes and a cute little bar in the middle.  It is very well decorated and the service is attentive.  Everything I ate was delicious, with portions so big it can all be shared.

Date destination?  Definately.  Prices are on the $20-30 range for entrees, and appetizers are closer to $10 a piece.  The atmosphere is romantic and calm.  It is small and cozy.  I went on a rainy night, but if the weather is nice I’d call ahead for a reservation.
