Van Horn is a town with not a lot going on, nestled in the mountains before El Paso. The town is only a couple streets of restaurants and hotels with some views of the mountains in the background. We stayed at a hotel close by to this steak house which was highly rated on tripadvisor.com. The atmosphere was cozy, with a bar close to the entrance. Service was slow but we still got our meals in reasonable time. I had their salmon with mashed potatoes and their homemade cowboy beans. The salmon seemed over fried in oil, and the beans could have used some salt, but the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. I don’t know if many of the restaurants in this out in the middle of nowhere town are any good, but the meal was descent and satisfied our hungers at least. Nothing fancy by any means however. Prices were around $10-15 for many meals.
