Anthony’s Fish Grotto, San Diego, CA

Came here for lunch one afternoon to enjoy the boats on the bay and some good seafood.  The fresh bread that came out was paired with a sundried tomato and garlic soft butter.  Even if you are avoiding the carbs I would still recommend trying this fresh warm bread  and butter because it was delish.  My vegan friend was able to order a salad while I had a grilled fish combo, with salmon, sole and cole slaw.  The grilled fish only had tarter sauce on the side, no other sauce on top but they didn’t need it, just a little salt and pepper.  I started with a cup of the clam chowder which had big clams and diced potatoes with the skin still on them.  The waitress even cracked fresh pepper onto my soup and her salad.  I ended the meal with their OMG cheesecake brownie topped with ice cream.  Great meal, with lunch prices around $10-$15 per plate.  Their dinner menu has many options around $20 per plate.  The tasty food and views of the bay make this restaurant worth a stop, or two.
